Why Choose a Boarding School?
Parents choose boarding schools for many different reasons. The following list is only an example of some of them:

Diversity - because boarding schools are independently funded, they have a wider curriculum to offer the students that attend their school. Teachers have the ability to teach subjects according to what the school wants to teach while still following the guidelines set by the state. Also, because the funding is coming from independent sources, the boarding school has the opportunity to decide what the monies should be applied to.

Structure - Spending 24 hours a day at the school offers such an ideal structure for students who are academically oriented, outside disturbances that public school children have are non-existent. This allows the boarding school student the opportunity to focus on schoolwork, therefore excelling in their studies.

Responsibility - Research states that students attending a boarding school have more ability as a whole to accept responsibility for their own life due to the fact that on a daily basis it is up to them to do what needs to be done. Without parents being there guiding them through their studies, they need to take the initiative to get their work done on their own.

Academic Achievement - Because there is such a low teacher/student ratio attending a boarding school, most students excel in their studies. There are more chances after class to get in touch with teachers or house parents for homework issues. Boarding schools students on the average, do twice the amounts of homework as public school students do, they take higher graded and harder coursework and they spend more time evaluating answers and understanding their assignments. The college preparatory aspect of attending a boarding school is substantial compared to the preparation that a public school student shows.
