Think about what it is you want from the boarding school. Be it athletics, arts, technology, foreign language or even travel abroad, then start searching for schools with those characteristics.

Decide if you want your child to attend an all boys or an all girls school, or if you want them to attend a co-educational boarding school. This will narrow the choices down quite a bit. Also, what is the school religious affiliation? If you want the moralistic value of religion integrated into the academic curriculum this is another good way to weed out those schools that you would rather your student not attend. Do you want your student to attend a fairly large school or a more intimate school with less students attending?
